What is to be a joyous and memorable event in the lives of the people of Ekumfi Essakyir, in the Ekumfi District of the Central Region, at the weekend, turned sour as four people who were at the durbar grounds were shot and killed by a gunman who was firing musketry as part of the ceremony.

One person known as Mpaa, 20, who was seriously wounded following shot wounds he sustained as a result of the incident had been transferred to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.
