Flober School Holds Speech Day

The Flober School at Adenta in the Greater Accra Region has held its seventh Speech and Prize- Giving Day with an appeal to parents to inculcate societal, and religious values into their children.

Speaking on the theme, Train up a child the way he/she should go, the Head of Corporate Finance and Research of State Insurance Company, Mrs. Alice Osei Okrah, urged parents to reprimand their wards for wrongdoing as a way of instilling the virtues of discipline in them.

That, she explained was the only way to instill discipline in their children during their formative ages, a period in which they could easily be swayed off by peers, and other counter-productive elements, such as the misuse of technology.

Mrs. Okrah cited the fear of God, discipline and time consciousness as critical tenets children should be taught in their formative years, adding that such tenets were needed to build a foundation for the future of children.

Mrs. Okrah urged parents to constantly remind their children to be time conscious and manage it effectively while cautioning them against shirking their parental responsibilities. She also advised teachers to be disciplined, reminding them that they serve as role models for the children around them.

The Executive Director of the school, Mrs. Sandra Addico, in her welcome address assured parents of the school’s resolve to provide quality education and holistic training for the children, announcing that biblical studies would be incorporated in the curriculum to enhance the spiritual life of the children.

“The talents these children have prove that they have the potential to be useful citizens of the future,” she said.

Prizes were awarded to deserving pupils who excelled during the last term’s examinations.
