Nobody really knows Henry Jay Lamptey – maybe, not yet. Indeed, he is no house-hold name.
But this young talent is steadily blossoming into a striker of the first water – and by the end of the Division One League (Zone 3), he may have carved a niche for himself.
Last Wednesday, the remorseless Lamptey banged home five goals for Nungua side Danbort FC in their 8-2 annihilation of Okwahu United in a cagey league game played at the Nungua Presby Town Park.
Again at the weekend, the sublime finisher was on target for Danbort who beat St. Mirren 2-0 to move up to seventh position on the ladder.
So far, Lamptey has recorded an impressive nine goals in 12 games, one of which he scored in an FA Cup tie.
With a cool head and hard work, the lethal striker’s name should be common in every home, in the next couple of years.
