His victim, Ataa Takyi, has also been charged for causing harm.
The court, presided by Juan Eyi Kin, however, granted the Fire Commander bail in the sum of GH¢2,000 bail to enable him to recover from the injury he sustained on his penis, when he allegedly attempted to rape the young woman.
Ataa is already on police enquiry bail.
The case has been adjourned to October 11.
Ansah was reported to have visited the home of his subordinate, Ataa, a community fire protection assistant deployed to the Techiman Fire Station under the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), and allegedly attempted to have sexual intercourse with her.
Ataa was said to have initially struggled with him, but as he seemed too strong for her, she agreed to his request.
Then, as they engaged in foreplay, she bit his penis.
Sources said after the incident, she called the office to report a fire outbreak, and personnel of the Municipal Fire Office rushed there only to find their commander in the room, bleeding.
They rushed him to hospital for medical attention. Ataa was later arrested for questioning and granted police enquiry bail until the case was determined by the court.
