KUMASI Asante Kotoko’s Adako Jachie training grounds was gutted by fire yesterday.
Reports say the fire begun in the early ours of yesterday when the senior team was training.
The fire, apparently started by an unidentified person who was burning weeds on a farm close by, stretched to blaze a substantial part of the field, the goal post and the nets.
The thick smoke which engulfed the area as a result of the fire forced head coach of the team, David Duncan to end the day’s session prematurely.
Communications Manager of the club, Kwaku Ahenkorah who confirmed the incident said the situation was brought under control as personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) arrived, adding that, there was no cause for alarm or panic.
Members of the technical team and players of the club have since traveled to Sekondi – Takoradi for the G6 tournament.
