Filling Station Robbed Soon After Inauguration

About eight armed robbers on Monday dawn, attacked a Total Filling Station at Sokode Bagble in the Ho municipality, only 48 hours after its inaugu-ration, and made away with about GH¢20,000 sales.

The station belongs to Joe Ayivor, a.k.a. “Afe Lotto”, an entrepreneur in Ho

Mr. Perry Doh, the supervisor of the station, told The Ghanaian Times that the robbery took place between 1:30 and 2 a.m.

Two securitymen, Kennedy and Tornu, who tried to prevent the robbers from attacking the office where the safe was, suffered severe machete wounds and have been admitted to the Ho Regional Hospital.

The robbers, armed with guns, knives and other dangerous implements, forced open the underground  office, used  cutters and other gadgets to open the safe and took the money.

The robbers,  wearing masks, ordered  workers sleeping in one of the offices at gun-point not to move and later bolted with their booty.

The incident has been reported to the police.
