An ultra-modern school complex has been commissioned for the Reverend Father Wieggers Basic School at Nsawam in the Eastern Region on Wednesday.
The GH¢149,746.28 edifice which was built within a year has facilities such as classrooms and offices.
The school was also provided with dual desks for the classrooms by the Nsawam Municipal Assembly.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Ben Ohene-Ayeh said the facility would help address congestion in the school
He said the government had made education in the country a priority hence the provision of infrastructure and other logistics for the students.
Mr. Ohene Ayeh said when children study in good atmosphere it promotes quality education in the country.
He assured the management of the school of government’s continuous support and urged them to maintain the facility for future generations.
The headmistress of the school, Ms. Margaret Damanka said the building would help improve enrollment which had been a challenge for the school.
She commended the government through the Municipal Assembly for the kind gesture stating that it would help the school in its activities.
The headmistress appealed to the assembly to also put up a toilet facility for the students.
Ms. Damanka called on other organisations and philanthropists to assist the school.
