A self-styled National Security operative has been arrested by the police at Adenta in Accra.
David Mensah, 30, was reported to have paraded himself as a security operative from the Flagstaff House during the inauguration of a Community Senior High School last week at Adenta.
A search on him revealed a foreign pistol, a pair of handcuffs, a torch light and a security communication gadget.
The Deputy Accra Regional Police Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Paul Ayittey that last Friday, said on November 11, Mensah arrived at the venue early in the morning and “carried himself as a security officer detail at the Flagstaff House.
ACP Ayittey, said that after a careful observation by some security persons at the venue Mensah was questioned but he was totally ignorant of the security operations, and was arrested.
Upon interrogation, Mensah admitted that he was not a security detail at the Presidency but told police he was an ex-military officer.
ACP Ayittey said further search on him revealed a number of military apparel and two digital cameras.
