Factory to produce noodles locally

INDOME PIXMultipro Private Limited, the brand representative of Ndomie noodles, is to establish a plant in Ghana to produce the food product locally.

Currently, the company which imports the ndomie noodles from Nigeria said construction would commence in the middle of the year.

Manish Goyal, National and Marketing Manager of Multipro Private Limited who disclosed this to the Times Business during a ceremony in  Accra to reward the distributors of the company, said the move was to promote the made in Ghana agenda of the government.

Dubbed: “Distributor Award Scheme”, which is held annually, formed part of efforts to reward the major distributors of the company.

In all, forty major distributors across the ten regions of the country were rewarded with salon cars and trucks to facilitate their business.

Mr. Goyal said the company had acquired huge tracks of land at Prampram for the establishment of the plant, adding that the construction would be completed by the end of 2016.

“The vision of Multipro Private Limited is to produce the food they have great taste for, and have been consuming for the past nine years, locally,” he stressed.

He said the plant would initially produce eight million cartons of Ndomie noodles a year and expanded subsequently, when new production lines were added.

“Not only would the factory provide employment to the youth in the community, but also  to  improve the Ghanaian economy as the millions of dollars the company used to import the products from Nigeria would stay in the economy,” Mr Goyal intimated.

He said: “Though the economy was hard last year due to the depreciation of the cedi, our distributors worked hard to achieve the sales target set for them.”

According to the National and Marketing Manager, Multipro Private Limited is a market leader in the noodles business, and is holding a 97 per cent share of the market.

Mr. Goyal, said the company had procured forty salon cars and trucks to be distributed to the major distributors who performed exceptionally last year.

He said other smaller distributors had been provided with fridges, mobile phones and other souvenirs.

Mr. Joseph Nukana Nyansieba, Chief Executive Officer of Batuacami Enterprise, one of the award winners expressed gratitude to the management of the Multipro Private Limited for their decision to reward distributors of the company.

“The award will further motivate us to work hard to achieve the sales and growth target of the company,” he said.
