Mohammed Issah, who claimed to be a businessman, was said to have lured his victim through Facebook and then duped her.
A police source told The Ghanaian Times in Accra yesterday that on July 25, a complainant in the case,( name withheld), said she met the suspect on facebook about three months ago and they became friends.
According to the source, on June 24, Issah, who claimed to import phones into the country, requested that the lady meet him at a hotel located at Odorkor.
The source said they met at the hotel and had sex after which Issah stole three phones and GH¢150 from her hand bag.
The source said Issah realizing that the victim fell asleep then locked her up and bolted with the items.
The Police source said the victim raised an alarm which attracted the hotel management and they rescued her with a duplicate key.
The victim later lodged a complaint to the Odorkor police which led to the arrest of suspect on June 25.
