Three people, including an exconvict, have been arrested for allegedly attacking holiday revellers and tourists at beaches in Accra.
The suspects are Emmanuel Commey, 25, the ex-convict, Richard Laryea and Augustina Osei, 20, a waitress.
According to the police, Commey had been imprisoned before for stealing and dealing in narcotics.
The outgoing Greater Accra Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Christian Tetteh Yohuno, told newsmen in Accra that, the suspects had been attacking tourists and holiday revellers along the beaches, and robbing them of their valuables.
He stated that on November 23, this year, the suspects and other three patrons of Mostin Beach, armed with broken bottles, attacked their victims and made away with mobile phones, ipad and an unspecified amount of money.
DCOP Yohuno said the suspects were in the custody of the police assisting in investigation andwould be put before court after.
