Ericsson AB Ghana Donates Laptops To AMA

Ericsson AB Ghana, an Information and  Communication Technology (ICT) Company, on Friday presented 150 laptops to the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA).

Presenting the items, the Chief Operating Officer of Ericsson AB Ghana, Maher Maarouf, said the presentation to the AMA was part of the Company’s social responsibility.

He said the donation aimed at promoting ICT education in remote areas, adding that his outfit would help promote education in the country.
Receiving the items, the Chief Executive of AMA, Mr. Alfred Okoe Vanderpuije expressed appreciation to the group for its  support toward ICT education in the region in general and the metropolis in particular.

He said the assembly was working hard to revolutionalise the education system to improve teaching and learning in schools.
He said the assembly had constructed 85 classrooms as part of the Millennium city school programme to promote the environment of teaching for school children and teachers.

Mr. Vanderpujie noted that the assembly was putting in place logistics to improve ICT education, adding that AMA would continue working hard to ensure that school children get the best of education in the region.

The assembly, he revealed, would soon commission five of the millennium city schools, adding that the AMA would by 2016 commission 1000 schools, to promote education.  By Christabel Akoto-Manu .
