The president of Ghana Institution of Engineers (GhIE), Ing. Kwaku Boampong, has called on Engineers in the country to attend this year’s Engineering Excellence Awards (EEA) slated for Saturday, October 31, 2015.
Speaking to the media at his office, the president of the institution said, “this year’s Engineering Excellence Awards is under the theme: “Engineers, rise up to reconstruct the Nation”.
“It is therefore, a very important theme for Engineers in the country; especially, the young and newly inducted Engineers.”
Mr. Boampong said the Council had agreed that all Engineers who attend this year’s awards would gain Continuing Professional Development point.
“The EEA of GhIE has been established to reflect on and recognise the valuable contributions that individuals and organisations make, to inspire their continued involvement and those of others, and to promote the key role of the engineering profession in public life, whilst ensuring that our members become accountable to their works,” he said.
It recognises valuable contributions and extraordinary performance in all aspects of the engineering professions and provides a strong awareness of the profession among related professions, all sectors and the general public.
Mr. Boampong said nominations received were being reviewed by a panel and successful nominees will be communicated to by October 15, 2015.
The winners for the awards he said would receive specially designed award and citation of recognition to mark their achievements.
