Enforce environmental cleanliness in schools

Mrs Belinda Ann Baidoo, the Awutu Senya District Director of Education, has appealed to schools in the district to promote cleanliness on school campus and colleges to ensure good health.

She said cleanliness and personal hygiene is a discipline that needs to be enforced in various schools and among the school children as a way of life.

Mrs. Baidoo, stated this at the launching of GNASBA Schools Environmental Sanitation Education Campaign at D/A Primary School at Awutu Breku in the Central Region.

The highlights of the programme was a three-hour clean-up exercise involving all selected schools at Awutu Breku and the presentation of 100 litter bins from Fan Milk Limited and 1,000 seedlings from the Forestry Commission.

She commends the Forestry Commission, Fan Milk Limited and GNASBA for their joint efforts to help promote hygiene in the school and afforestation in the district.

Mr. Samuel Amoah, the District Coordinating Director for Awutu Senya District Assembly, commended the teachers and the school children for their high turnout during the clean-up exercise.

Presenting the 100 litter bins on behalf of Fan Milk Limited, Baffour Akwasi Oppong, the national hairman of GNASBA said the association would continue to partner the company to help reach out to schools in various communities to promote environmental health.
