Effutu Assembly Invest In Social Improvement Project

The Effutu Municipal Assembly last year, completed six social infrastructure projects to help improve the living standard of the people.

They included the construction of a CHPS Compound at New Winneba, the construction of a three-storey office complex, the construction of a 12-seatr toilet at Sankor, the rehabilitation of a six-unit classroom block at Kojo Beedu, the rehabilitation of a 12-seater toilet at Donkonyem, and the construction of an abattoir near Winneba Junction.

The projects, financed under the District Development Fund, Urban Development Grand, and the District Assembly Common Fund, cost GH¢375,422.

The effutu Municipal chief Executive, Nii Ehraim, disclosing this at the First Ordinary Meeting of the Fourth Session of the Fifth assembly at Winneba, said over GH¢650,597.00 is being spent on 19 other on-going projects.

The projects include boreholes at Gyangyanadze, Gyatekrom, Sankor, Low-cost, the Sankor, Unipra South and North.

The rest are completion of a 20-seater ICT Centre at the Anglican School, and the provision of residential accommodation for some staff of the Assembly.

Nii Ephraim urged the Assembly members to continue to sensitize their electorate to the dangers of building on water ways, and dumping refuse in drains to avoid flooding.

The Assemble approved the recommendation by the Executive Committee that all occupants who had defaulted in the payment of rent for the Assembly bungalows and quarters, should pay those monies in full.

The Assembly members appealed to management to meet the Management of Trauma and Specialist Hospital to discuss the proper disposal of liquid waste from the facility to avoid the outbreak of an epidemic. GNA
