Driver’s mate’s murderers remanded

The suspects being taking bact to police cells.A 42-year-old small-scale miner, who could not stand the pressure of losing his wife to a driver’s mate and six others he conspired with to murder him, have been remanded by the Anloga Magistrate Court.

The miner, Major Amemlio, and the six others, were said to have conspired and murdered Anthony Egbe Glologah, 39, the driver’s mate.

The pleas of Major Amemlio, and the six, Emyonam Adzibia, trader, Sosu Abewole, fisherman; Huntor Eabbah, firewood cutter; Adza Saabah, photographer; Mavo Kwame Gevedzi, fisherman; Dzatu Adzibia, trader and Prosper Ahiabi fisherman, were not taken.

They are to reappear before the court on Wednesday, January 7.

The Ghanaian Times on Saturday, November 22, reported that a jealous husband who could not withstand the pressure of losing his wife to driver’s mate had allegedly caused the death of the mate.

Major Amemelio, is said to have connived with six others, to murder Anthony Egbe Gbologah, who had visited his wife in his absence at Akplorwotorkor, near Anyanui, in the Keta municipality on October 23.

They later conveyed the body in a canoe and dumped it in a nearby river.

The police, arrested them upon a tip-off.
