Driver fined for obstruction

The Winneba District Magistrate’s Court has imposed a fine of GH¢120 on a 37-year-old driver for wrong-ful parking in the Winneba township.

Kojo Essel who pleaded guilty, will serve a three-month prison term in default of the fine.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Peter Agbelie told the court, presided over  by Mr. Alexander Oworae,  that at about 4.30 p.m on December 10, Essel who was driving an Opel Corsa taxi, was intercepted by the Winneba District Police Commander for causing obstruction on the road.

Inspector Agbelie told the court that in his caution statement, the accused admitted the offence and was therefore, arraigned before the court.
