DRACHOFEST 2018 ends in Accra

The Technical Specialist of Amplifiers Ghana, a non-governmental organisation, Madam Comfort Kyerewaa has urged the youth not to separate the yolk of an egg before eating it.

According to her the yolk of an egg contained the essential nutrients needed for a balanced diet and healthy growth as such must not be separated before being eaten.

Madam Kyerewaa  gave the advice at the just ended Drama, Artistic and Choreography Festival(DRACHOFEST 2018) held in Accra on Monday, aimed at sharpening the interest and skills of young people in using drama to realise their potential.

The event which hosted over 1500 students from both public and private  schools,  had  the  participants  performing a sketch dubbed “My egg, my yolk” to exhibit the importance of egg yolk since it has been realised that most people including the young and old have developed an attitude of removing the egg yolk before taking the white.

She indicated that frying egg with water was indeed the healthiest way one can choose to eat a fried egg.

“The egg yolk contained all the essential nutrients needed for a healthy body and a balanced diet as such must not be separated before eating,” she added.

Madam Kyerewaa said the egg eating competition and the egg spoon race would help the students realise the potential of adding an egg a day to their diet.

The students who were surprised at the use of water to fry egg urged the NGO to intensify the campaign to ensure that the practice is accepted by the citizenry.

The event was sponsored by TAT Publications, Jay Kay Industries, Kasapreko Royal drinks, GHsell.com, JIMB collections, Blue Skies Ghana, Tetelestai Communications and the Support Learning Project.
