Dr Dzisah Appointed Rector Of GIJ

DzisahThe Governing Council of the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) has appointed Dr. Wilberforce Sefakor Dzisah as the Rector of the institute with effect from today.

He succeeds Mr. David Newton who retired on August 31, a statement signed by the Registrar of the institute, Perry P.K Ofosu said.

Dr. Dzisah holds a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Communications and Media from the University of Westminster (United Kingdom) and a Master of Arts Degree in Journalism from the University of Wales (Cardiff University, U.K).

He is also a SUSI Scholar, Ohio University. He is an aluminus of GIJ and an old boy of Keta Seccndary School (KETASCHO).

“Before his appointment as Rector, Dr. Dzisah was the Vice-Rector of the Institute. He also served as Dean of te Faculty of Communication and Social Science in the Institute. He has several publications and peer-reviewed papers to his credit,” the statement said.

It said Dr. Dzisah contributed book chapters and reviewed a number of books and journal papers in his field of endeavour and also attended and presented several papers at conferences in and outside Ghana and also consulted for several organizations in and outside the country.
