Domiabra Methodist 1&2 schools get dual desks

Diamond Capital 2Diamond Capital Microfinance Limited a financial institution, has donated dual desks worth GH¢ 13,000 to the Domiabra Methodist 1 and 2 schools in the Ga South municipality.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the Managing Director of Diamond Capital Microfinance Limited Mr. Selasie Woanyah said the company was moved by the plight of the children who study on the floor during school hours which was reported in the media reportage.

He encouraged the pupils to study hard to fulfill their dreams, irrespective of the circumstances in which they found themselves to transform their lives.

Mr. Woanyah said it was rather sad that the children in the kindergarten who on first contact with education did not even have educational materials to aid in teaching them.

“Education can breach the gap in society and we encourage you to study hard in order to become the leaders of tomorrow,” he said.

The Executive Director, Business Development & Marketing, Mr. Mathew Lawer Teye, said it was part of the company’s corporate social responsibility to support the school.

He said the company would continue to support the school considering the fact that it lacks a lot of facilities.

The Headmaster of the school, Mr. Edward Affum Osae, said the school was grateful for the gesture and thanked the company for the presentation.

He said it would improve the learning of the pupils who through no fault of theirs had found themselves in the unpleasant condition.

Receiving the dual desks, the Circuit Supervisor for Ashalaja, Mr. Kwame Appiah Khruscher, said the situation was unbearable and that they had become desperate to help the children study in better conditions.

He thanked the company and appealed to other organisations to emulate the example of the company.
