Dogboe, Tabanao meet press today

Isaac DogboeIsaac Dogboe’s opponent in Friday’s boxing showdown, Neil John Tabanao will arrive in the country today from his native Philippines.

The Philippino will wrestle Dogboe at the Police Officers Social and Fitness Centre (POSFC), behind the Police Headquarters in Accra for the WBC Youth world featherweight title belt which is presently vacant.

Neil TabanaoIn addition, the winner will also unify the WBO featherweight titles held by the two.

Tabanao’s arrival was rescheduled for today due to issues with some travel formalities.

He is expected to join his opponent, Dogboe to attend the first official fight presser at the offices of GTV Sports+ where fight arrangement would be announced.

The event put together by the Aborigines Beach Resort and Rising Africa Promotions, a would be high profile promotion with the President, John Dramani Mahama and former Presidents, Jerry Rawlings and John Agyekum Kuffour expected to be in attendance.

It will also attract high profile personalities like the Ministers of Youth and Sports, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye and his deputy, Vincent Oppong Asamoah, GBA officials to be led by its President, Peter Zwennes, and the British High Commissioner to Ghana, Jon Benjamin and other top state officials and gurus from the corporate sector.

Rates for the big show are GH¢1,000 for VVIP, GH¢500 for Ringside and GH¢100 for Regular.
