TROUBLE within the camp of the porcupine warriors, Kumasi Asante Kotoko, seems to be deepening as fans are divided over the leadership of the club, following reports that a former player of the national team, Black Stars, Samuel Osei Kuffuor is to be appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the red army.
While some want Mr. Opoku Nti to continue, others are yearning for the former Bayern Munich player.
The issue has sparked a serious confusion among the Kotoko fraternity, as the followers of Mr. Nti are insisting that had the former Bayern Munich player got anything to offer, he should have done it while a member of the Board of Directors .
According to this faction, Osei Kuffuor should be ashamed of himself for not contributing his quota to support Mr. Nti when the need arose, but left the scene as a board member.
Former players of the club have also expressed grave concern over the decision to sack Mr. Nti for another former player to lead it.
In the view of a former player, Dogo Moro, on Fox FM on Monday, “if the new person should be a former player, then it should be a former player of the porcupine warriors”.
Otumfuo OseiTutu II, the Asantehene has, therefore, been called upon by the fans to let Mr. Nti to continue and “ even allowed to complete his term of office, which ends in June 2016”.
