Speaking at a news conference in Accra, on Thursday, the Managing Director of West Africa Dimension Data, Mr. Glad Dibetso, said the company was excited to be expanding its African footprint through its partnership with Microsoft and Cisco.

“The ICT market in West Africa is growing, and Ghana is expected to play a key role. We therefore look forward to working closely with our clients and partners in Ghana to develop locally relevant solutions to help clients accelerate their business ambitions”, he stated.

According to him, currently the group employs 37 permanent staff in Ghana and plans are underway to increase its system integration skills and expertise over the next 12 months while providing opportunities to young local talents in the country.

Making a reference to a World Bank report, Mr. Dibetso noted that information technology and the construction sector now account for half of the country’s national income, adding that, “This is reason the ICT sector should be developed and taken advantage of in promoting national development”.

Mr. Dibetso said the Group had been operating in the West African market for a decade with an operation in Nigeria where it has several offices through its subsidiary Plessey and Internet Solutions which were both ICT service providers, in Nigeria and Ghana. By Charles Amankwa
