Die Hard Supporters Hold Fund-Raising For Bus

DIE-HARD Supporters Union of Ghana last Saturday organized a fund-raising ceremony in Accra to enable the purchase a 30-seater.

The bus according to the president of the Union Mr. Abraham Nkansah will aid them in their movements to match venues across the country to support the various national teams.

Mr. Nkansah said the bus was valued at GHc 85, 000 but the union has been able to pay GHc45, 000 and was hoping to raise the remainder of the cost at the end of the ceremony to claim total ownership of the bus.

“Even though officials expected at the ceremony could not make it we are optimistic we will be able to raise the needed funds,” he added.

He said the his outfit will welcome any amount of money from the sympathizers and   the corporate world at large to help pay for the remainder.

“Supporter Unions in the country are not respected   and are most often labeled as opportunists who are looking for avenues to extort money from the government and football officials”, he noted.

He said this is unfortunate because football without supporters can not be complete.

He said supporters deserve some respect from Ghanaians and football officials adding that   if supporters are treated well it will affect the performance of the team.
