Dede Still On Man.U, Liverpool Radar

Dede AyewManchester United and Liverpool are looking to land Ghana international Andre Ayew by the close of the transfer window after the winger rejected a move to Hull City.

According to the Express, the 24-year-old has been linked with a transfer to both Old Trafford and Anfield over the course of this summer, with Brendan Rodgers refusing to rule out a bid earlier in the day after the player declined to join Hull City.

Ayew, who is predominantly a winger, but can also operate in central midfield or behind a striker, has been at Marseille since 2005, and has struck an impressive 34 goals in 134 matches.

Ayew who has just a year on his Marseille contract is holding out for a move to a bigger club, and the Red Devils boss Louis Van Gaal could turn to the versatile Ghanaian after falling short in his efforts to buy Juventus’ Arturo Vidal and Sporting Lisbon’s William Carvalho.

Meanwhile,Andre Ayew has arrived last night ahead of Saturday’s 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Uganda.

Ghana midfielder Andre Ayew will stay at French side Marseille at least until January after failing to sign for Queens Park Rangers despite arriving in London to seal a deal to beat the transfer deadline.

Marseille reached an agreement with the English Preimer League side over the transfer fee of the player which led to the player dashing from France to London to seal the deal, sources close to the player told Ghana’s leading football news website.

However, Ayew could not reach a deal with QPR over his wages which led to the deal collapsing just minutes before the transfer window closed in the UK at 10pm Ghana time.

The wage proposal from QPR was far below what the highly-rated Ghana international earns at Marseille which means the winger would be better off financially if he stays at the French side.

With his contract at Marseille running out in June next year, the French side risk losing their most-prized asset for free if they fail to convince him to extend his expiring contract.

The next opportunity Marseille have for selling the Ghana international is in January when the transfer window opens and Ayew will be keen on a move.

With the transfer deadline getting close last night, English giants Manchester United and arch rival Liverpool were said to have entered the last-minute race to sign Ayew.
