Decland Interacts With Rowing, Canoeing Teams

Newly appointed President of the Ghana Rowing and Canoeing Association, Francis Decland on Sunday paid a familiarisation visit to the paddlers and technical team at Ada.

The visit was aimed at interacting with the paddlers and get updates on concerns and challenges they face and find ways to address them.

The president inspected facilities at the camp and promised to get new equipment to enhance training.

Mr. Decland said the association has targeted the upcoming All African Games and would ensure adequate preparations to excel at the games.

To that end, a formidable team would be formed to represent the country at the 2016 Olympic Games adding that, he was prepared to work together with all stakeholders to ensure the sport becomes popular like football.

The president stated that, he was impressed with the output of the paddlers and assured that the necessary incentives would be made available for them to improve.

Junior Coach of the team, Adopleh Isaac urged all the paddlers to put in their maximum effort to improve upon their skills.

He also appealed to them to be regular at training while assuring the executives that they would do everything possible to make a great impact at the world stage.
