Over 100 people and their mothers as part of this year’s Indomie Mothers’ Day celebrations were rewarded.
The event put together by producers of Indomie Instant Noodles was to enable their patrons to celebrate and honour their mothers on the special day.
A statement issued by the company in Accra yesterday said the winners were selected from among people who participated in a competition by writing on what they felt special about their mothers and posted it on the facebook page of the company.
The winners received free tickets to watch a movie of their choice with their mothers at the Silverbird Cinema along with several products of Indomie Instant Noodles.
Speaking at the event Mr. Shine AkiemTorsoo, Brands Manager of De United Foods Industries Ltd., said the euphoria that surrounds the celebrations of Mothers Day should be extended to policy issues, by making each policy gender sensitive.
He said considering the significant role that women play, making every policy gender sensitive will improve on its success.
He said the role that women play in the development of the country could be enhanced if every policy has a gender perspective.
He said it is the same thinking that backs the institution of the IndomieMothers Day event.
Mr. Torsoo explained that besides the fact that Indomie prides itself with maintaining a healthy relationship with patrons of its products, the company finds it even more crucial if it had to do with women.
According to him, Indomie finds it prudent to support their patrons to celebrate their mothers, adding that reaching out to women meant touching the lives of many.
The Mothers present at the event were grateful to their wards for participating in the competition and winning.
