Dasor Upbeat For IAAF Championship In U.S

Emmanuel DasorGHANA’S sprint king Emmanuel Dasor is optimistic of making history in the upcoming International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) Junior World Junior Championship in the United States of America (USA) later this month.

Dasor, who moved to the States to further his sporting career is one of the few Ghanaians’ who will be participating in the upcoming championship.

The IAAF world Junior Championship which takes place every year and its ear marked for young athletes who are below the age of 19.

He will be leading Ghana’s search for laurels in the competition.

“Am really determined to make this count, because this is my first time am going to take part in this championships, my record has been good and am hoping things will work well for me in this championship.

“My training and my timing has been excellent, but in such competitions you just have to psyche yourself up for the battle ahead and am ever ready to compete and do well for my Nation”.

Suzy Accolatse, huddler Ibrahim Yakubu are the other Ghanaian athletes, who are expected to compete in the IAAF World Junior Athletics championships.

The Championship, is fixed for July 20-27th of this month.

*Turkish club Trabzonspor have started serious talks with Milan over Ghanaian midfielder Michael Essien, Goal Ghana can exclusively reveal.

Trabzonspor chairman Ibrahim Haciosmanoglu has already contacted the Rossoneri for the former Chelsea man and a deal could be reached next week.

New Milan boss Filipo Inzaghi is not keen on keeping the 31-year-old and could be sold to Trabzonspor for four million Euros.

Olympiakos and Al Ain are also knocking to secure the services of the Ghana international.

Essien could join former Chelsea and Lyon team-mate Florent Malouda who was signed by the club last summ.

According to TuttoSport, AC Milan could cash in for € 4m after signing the former Chelsea anchor man on a free.

Essien’s current deal with the Rossoneri will expire in 2015 and cost the San Siro outfit € 3m per season.

The 31-year-old made seven appearances in the Serie A including three starts.

*Black Stars centre-back, Rashid Sumaila has made an undisclosed cash donation to colts clubs in the Central Region in his bid to help the society in which he grew up from.
