Re-elected Member of Parliament (MP) for Okere, Mr. Dan Kwaku Botwe, has expressed deep appreciation to voters in the constituency for renewing his mandate.
The massive support given to him and his party’s standard-bearer, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo, he noted, contributed in no small measure to the resounding election victory of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He was addressing a huge crowd of jubilant supporters after a victory walk at Abiriw.
Mr. Botwe praised the polling station executives of the party for the commitment and vigilance that ensured that the decision of the people was respected.
He assured everybody that the Akufo-Addo administration would not disappoint and would work hard to live up to expectation.
It would keep faith with the people and deliver on its election campaign promises, he added.
He urged the people to put the election behind them and pull together to bring development to the area.
The MP, a former General Secretary of the NPP and minister of state, polled 16,235 votes to beat his two other contestants, Mr. Michael Ofori-Offei of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who had 6,410 votes, and the Convention People’s Party’s (CPP) Samuel Adu-Agyei, 292 votes.
