Bishop Dr. Fred Agogo, Commander, International Church Call, has said ensuring peaceful and credible elections in the country are civic responsibilities that every patriotic citizen is expected to fulfil.
He stressed that nation-building needs the collective effort of the citizenry to achieve the required impact, adding that, “we must resolve to do everything possible and necessary to develop our nation.”
Bishop Dr. Agogo, made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Akim Oda in the Brim Central Municipality of the Eastern Region.
He asked Ghanaians to avoid “threatening mayhem and using violence to settle political scores because it would not help to facilitate the democratic development of the country.”.
Bishop Dr. Agogo, who is also former Principal of the Bible College of Ghana, entreated Ghanaians to abide by the principles and values that have sustained national peace.
He noted that the country had vibrant politicians, whose roles and activities could help in promoting peace, before, during and after the elections.
Bishop Dr. Agogo said there was the need to inculcate into the youth the spirit of patriotism so that they could take over the mandate of leadership.
