Court Remands Four In Prison Custody

FOUR people who allegedly robbed a businessman of his personal belongings and cash of GH¢6,960, were yesterday remanded in prison custody by an Accra Circuit Court.

They pleaded not guilty to the charges and would appear again on June 23.

They were Christian Mwugo, a businessman, Moro Musah, a fashion designer, Mohammed Tofic alias Funky Don and Ali Moro.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Emmanuel Afful, told the court, presided over by Mr Francis Obiri that the complainant was a student and lives at Laterbiokorshie in Accra.

Last month, complainant had a misunderstanding with Mwugo over a business transaction.

Last May 26, Mwugo hired Moro and six others (now at large), who threatened the complainant and collected his money.

The accused went to the complainant’s house to have discussions on some transactions, with him.

Complainant, sensing danger, fled, leaving behind, his fiancée.

The accused broke his door and took his Plasma TV set, three laptops, two Nokia phones, one Iphone and GH¢ 1,800.00 cash, and assaulted his fiancée and took her Louis Vuitton lady’s bag.

On last June 6, Moro was arrested and a search conducted in his room revealed the lady’s bag.

During investigations, Moro admitted the offence and mentioned Mwugo as the one who contracted them to attack the complainant.
