The 38-year-old United Kingdom-based Ghanaian Pastor, Eric Adusah who has been standing trial over the death of his British wife, Speirs Charmaine, is a free man.
He was discharged by the Accra magistrate’s court yesterday, upon the advice of the Attorney-General.
When the case was called yesterday, the prosecution informed the court presided by Mavis Kwainoe, that the advice from the Attorney-General’s Department indicated that Pastor Adusah was not connected to the offence.
Upon hearing that the counsel for the accused, Efua Acheampomaa Duah, prayed the court to release the corpse for burial.
Pastor Adusah was arrested by the police in February this year, when he touched base upon the information that his wife died in a hotel where they were lodging before he fled to UK.
Pastor Adusah who has denied killing his wife, was denied bail on three occasions during the committal proceedings, as the prosecution argued that there was no unnecessary delays to warrant his release.
