The Black Meteors crashed out of next year’s Olympic Games after losing 4-5 on penalties to Congo away.
Ghana went into the second leg with a slender 1-0 advantage, but unfortunately could not get the all-important away goal to see through.
Congo dominated the first half and deservedly got themselves back into the game with a well worked goal.
Malik Jabir’s side managed to absorb all the pressure from then onwards to send the game into the ultimate decider of the lottery of penalties.
The home side came out on top and won 5-4 to end Ghana’s dreams of making the Olympic games in Rio next year.
This woud be a major blow to Ghana football, since it adds to the local Black Stars who performed poorly at the COSAFA tournamen recently.
According to close observers of the game, the two national sides have indicted Ghana football as having fallen behind international standards.
