The Samara Company Limited, producers of sasso insecticide spray and mosquito coil, on Monday donated items to the Okyeman Environment Foundation, at the Okyenhene’s Palace in Kyebi, Eastern Region.

The donation included 50,000 exercise books that have the Okyenhene’s picture and Sasso logo embossed on them and 50,000 customised pens, at a cost of GH¢150,000.00 to the foundation.

The foundation, which is a non-governmental organisation, which seeks to promote environmental conservation, also received boxes of Sasso Insecticide Spray and Mosquito Coil, and an undisclosed amount from the company.

The foundation is expected to distribute the books and pens to school in the Kyebi area.

The Okyehene, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin, receiving the items, commended the company for contributing to the development of education in the area.

He stressed that “This gesture is a great investment in the lives of the children, given the fact that education is key and holds the growth of every town, city and nation in the world.”.

Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin appealed to the authorities to improve the conditions of service for teachers, saying they are the main force behind education.

Nana Dr. Appiagyei Dankawoso I, board member of Samara, said the company decided to support the foundation because of its crucial role of promoting environmental preservation.

Nana Adutwumwaa Dokua, Okye-hemaa, who was at the palace, thanked the company for the gesture.

In a related development, personnel of the company accompanied the Okyenhene to distribute 100 exercise books each to the Municipal Assembly (M/A) Experimental Primary and Junior High School and Christ-Head Institute, all in Kyebi.
