Manchester City new boys Ilkay Gundogan and Leroy Sane returned to training ahead of Wednesday’s clash against Steaua Bucharest.
The duo, along with captain Vincent Kompany, have been sidelined through injury but were present as Pep Guardiola talked during the session on Tuesday morning.
While Kompany and Gundogan have been left out of City’s Champions League squad, Sane was included following his £42million arrival from Schalke.
Gundogan has been recovering from a long-term knee injury but took to the training pitch yesterday and was seen to flick the ball up.
The 25-year-old arrived from Borussia Dortmund this summer for £21m as Guardiola sets about putting his stamp on the new squad.
Sane looked focused as he took the field as City looks to seal their place in the Champions League group stages after a comfortable 5-0 first leg victory.
Kompany, meanwhile, has been out since May after undergoing thigh surgery which saw him miss Belgium’s Euro 2016 campaign.
The City squad appeared in buoyant mood on Tuesday after winning their opening two Premier League fixtures.
John Stones, another summer signing who joined from Everton in a £47.5m deal, was seen sharing a joke with Fernandinho as the duo beamed with laughter.
Joe Hart, who has been a target for Everton having been told he can leave the club, was pictured speaking with the City manager on the training pitch. Willy Caballero is expected to keep his place in goal for today’s clash at the Etihad
