Church leaders urged to solve problems

The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Evangelical Presbyterian ( EP) Church, Ghana, Right Reverend Dr. Seth Senyo Agidi, has urged church leaders to constantly interact with their flock, and help in solving problems that confront society.

He said though some political leaders belong to various churches, they lacked the virtues of commitment, sacrifice and compassion required for development.

Rev. Dr. Agidi made the call at the ordination service for 23 pastors of the EP Church, Ghana, at the Ho Dela Cathedral Church.

He said leadership must reflect on the lives of the people, and asked politicians, who are aspiring for leadership positions to avoid the use of insulting language.

Rev. Dr. Agidi reminded them that leadership is not war, but it was about solving problems.

He said any church or nation whose leaders are ordinary-minded people, never break new grounds to move the followers forward.

Preaching the sermon, Rt. Rev. Paul Sename Avinou, Moderator of Eglise Evangelique Presbyterien, Togo, cautioned against prosecuting and undermining efforts of people, who strived to achieve excellence for the growth of the church and society.

He said “as Christians, we should also seek the welfare of the underprivileged and people who are distressed.

Rt. Rev. Avinou urged the ordained pastors to strive hard to overcome challenges to be enable them to accomplish their task.
