A five-year-old boy was killed and two of his siblings seriously injured, when the roof of a building in which they were sleeping caved in during a downpour that hit Bosore at Kenyase in the Kwabre District of the Ashanti Region.
Asoma Braimah, the deceased, was said to have been smashed in the head by an aluminum roofing sheet when the building caved in on them, while the siblings, Fati Asomah and Yusif Asoma, sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), for treatment.
According to a teacher of the Modern Technology International School, Mr. Ahmed Nurudeen, the pupils were asked to go home when the rainfall became imminent.
He said on their way, it started raining heavily and a woman seeing the three siblings in such a predicament, invited them into her house to wait for the rain to stop before going home.
He said it was under those circumstances that the unfortunate incident occurred, adding that Braimah was pronounced dead on arrival at the KATH, where the two others are responding to treatment.
