Caterer grabbed for fraud

A caterer who allegedly defrauded a salesman of the Nestle Ghana Limited of over GH¢15,000, has been arrested.

Awura Adjoa Bonaldi, who is in her 30s, is said to have jumped police enquiry bail.

Deputy Superintendent Emmanuel Osei Agbogah, the Accra Regional Crime Officer, told The Ghanaian Times yesterday, that on November 17, last year, Bonaldi ordered Nestle products, worth GH¢15,460, from the salesman, Baffour Awuah.

When the items were delivered at her shop at Kwashieman, Bonaldi asked Awuah to return the following day for the money, but when he went found, to his surprise, that Bonaldi had vacated the shop.

Awuah subsequently reported the matter to the police and she was arrested on November 24.

Bonaldi claimed during interrogation, that she supplied the goods to a woman at Nima, and took the police there, but neither the woman nor the items were found.

The police, however, retrieved a few of the items from Bonaldi and granted her bail, to produce the rest of the items or pay the cost, but jumped bail.

She was later traced to a hideout and arrested.
