Car Burnt At Nkrumah Circle

DSC02633A Nissan Taxi-cab was in the early hours of yesterday burnt to ashes when it caught fire at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle

The taxi-cab with registration number, GS 102 Z, was shuttling within the Nkrumah Circle enclave when the driver said, he heard a noise from the engine which forced the vehicle to a stop.

The driver, George Yamoah, said he came out of the vehicle and opened the bonnet to identify the fault only to see sparks of fire and therefore, called for help to which some bystanders responded by joining him to extinguish the fire, but they could not succeed, because of the intensity of the inferno.

The seats, and the steering wheel as well as the driver’s licence and GH¢30 got burnt to ashes by the time personnel of the Fire Service arrived at the scene.

Speaking to The Ghanaian Times, George Yamoah, the driver, said he had been driving the car for the past seven years.

He said he tried to move the vehicle after hearing a noise thinking it was a normal fault, but it was not.
