The Capital Bank Labone branch was officially opened for business on Tuesday, after an inaugural ceremony held at the forecourt of the bank at Labone, a suburb of Accra.
Inaugurating the branch, the Managing Director, Reverend Fitzgerald Odorkor, said “we are rolling out contemporary branches that are world class in terms of visual appeal but also communicate our strong African identity.”
He said at the end of the year, Capital Bank would expand its branch network to 22 by rolling out ultra-modern branches in East Legon, Achimota and Harper Road in Kumasi as well as relocating “our current branch in Pampaso, Kumasi to provide a more enhanced banking experience for our clients.”
The Labone branch is one of four branches equipped with priority banking centres which offer customised and premium solutions to serve the diverse needs of clients who demand augmented banking services.
Other branches equipped with the priority banking centres are Spintex, Osu , and the new Harper Road branch to be officially unveiled later in the month.
Reverend Odorkor said despite the strides achieved by the bank, which is listed among the 100 most prestigious companies in Ghana, “we are not resting on our oars to innovate by developing simple and relevant solutions that dictate the dynamics of banking and also meets the needs of the sophisticated Ghanaian.”
He hinted that the bank was in the process of deploying over 38 sophisticated ATMs that allow customers to do interbank and intra-bank funds transfer from their Capital Bank accounts to any bank through the Ghana Instant Pay platform and also through the internet banking platform.
The Head of Retail Banking of Capital Bank, Eunice Brocke, said the “unveiling of this ultra –modern branch is an important step in our quest to expand out footprint and entrench Capital Bank as Ghana’s leading retail bank and most importantly make our value-laden solutions available to customers who need the physical presence of a banking hall due to the nature of their transactions.”
“Our decision to locate a branch in Labone was largely influenced by the need to situate a branch in a serene atmosphere to enhance the client’s banking experience,” she said adding “our branch strategy is not only focused on the establishment of world class branches but also leveraging on technology to expand the frontiers of branchless banking,” she added.
