The Christ Apostolic Church International (CACI) has donated an amount of GH¢10,000 to the Tourism Society of Ghana (TOSOGHA) to promote domestic tourism in first and second cycle institutions across the country.

Apostle Joseph Sakyi, Director of Christian Education Unit of the Church presenting the cheque said the church wanted to partner TOSOGHA for their good work across the country by promoting domestic tourism.

He said through the partnership, the church would establish a regular support scheme meant to promote tourism education, research, evaluation and mentoring of the school children to appreciate Ghana and also gain a sense of patriotism.

Receiving the cheque on behalf of TOSOGHA, Joseph Amartey, Executive Director of the Society said their objective was to promote, develop and sustain domestic tourism in the country.

He said since 2006 when the society was established it had been working assiduously at the Basic Educational level to inculcate in the youth a sense of pride in the various heritage destinations and cultural riches across the country.

Mr Amartey said the society through it works had managed to create socio-cultural platform for the school children to appreciate, engage and promote tourism activities.

He said this was achieved through organising educational trips and tours to various tourism sites, educating the students in the various institutions through seminars and the formation of tourism clubs to sustain interest in the activities of the society.
