But the Ghana Police Service has cautioned members of the NDC to abort the plan of resorting to defending themselves.
Police Public Relations Director, Superintendent of Police Cephas Arthur said it was not for the members of the NDC to defend themselves but resort to using laid-down procedures to address the issues.
Superintendent Arthur said , eight suspects have so far been picked up and some have been arranged before the courts of law for questioning.
Mr. Arthur said the law is no respecter of person and anyone who would be caught disturbing the peace of the country would be made to face the full rigours of the law.
Meanwhile, General Secretary of the Christian Council of Ghana, Rev. Dr. Kwabena Opuni-Frimpong has called for calm as the council works out a modality to end the alleged attacks on members of the NDC so as to avert any reprisal response.
