The Minister of the Interior, Mark Woyongo, acting on the advice of the Northern Regional Security Council and an Executive Instrument, has reviewed the curfew hours imposed on the Bunkpurugu township from 4.p.m to 6 a.m. with immediate effect.
This is contained in a press statement released yesterday and signed by the sector minister, Mr. Woyongo.
The statement, however, reiterated a total ban on all persons in the township and its environs from carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapon.
It warned that any person found with any arms or ammunition would be arrested and prosecuted.
The statement appealed to chiefs, opinion leaders, youth and the people in the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them and to advance non-violent means to address their grievances.
