Buck Press donates text books to Saint Peters Anglican Basic Sch

Buck Press Limited, a publishing and printing firm yesterday donated 680 assorted text books to the Saint Peters Anglican Basic School at Ofankor in the Ga West Municipal Assembly.

The books, Teachers’ Guide, Integrated Science for Junior High School, Literacy and Environmental Studies books for kindergarten among others are to enhance teaching and learning in the school.

The donation was part of activities earmarked to commemorate the 30th anniversary celebration of the company slated for December this year.

The Publishing Manager of the company, Nana Ama Buckman who made the presentation said the topmost priority of the company was education.

She said quality education was crucial for a country’s development and stressed the need to support government’s efforts aimed promoting education.

“The future of the country depends on these pupils who would take up the mantle one day if we are not around,” she stated.

Ms Buckman assured the school of the company’s continuous support in helping them achieves their goals

She urged the pupils to learn hard to become good and responsible leaders in the country.

The Publishing Manager said the company would extend such gesture to schools within the company’s catchment area.

The headmistress of the school, Ms Rose Tenkorang receiving the books described the donation as timely because the school was in dire need of text books.

She said it would help promote teaching and learning in the school.

Ms Tenkorang commended the management of the company for the kind gesture and assured that the books would be used for its intended purpose.

She called on other institutions to emulate the company’s kind gesture and support the school.
