Brazil face Costa Rica, USA

BRAZIL will play Costa Rica in a friendly in New Jersey on September 5, three days before the Selecao play the United States.

The game, announced on Tuesday, is on a FIFA international date, which means clubs must release players to national teams.

The double header in the United States will serve as preparation for the start of the qualifying campaign for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Dunga’s side begin their campaign with an away match against Copa America champions Chile on October 4 before a home fixture against Venezuela a week later.

Brazil will be hoping to return to winning ways after they were dumped out of the Copa America in the quarter-finals following a penalty shootout defeat by Paraguay.

Brazil play the United States in a friendly on September 8 at Foxborough, Massachusetts.
