Boy, 4, Escaped Unhurt In This Accident

20130712_061316A four-year-old boy, who was travelling with the father, escaped unhurt, when the “tro-tro” on which they were travelling somersaulted and landed on its roof at the Ritz Junction, near Adentan on Friday.

However, 10 other passengers, including the father of the small boy, suffered injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

A policeman, who was on his way to work, at the time of the accident at about 6:15 a.m., attributed it to over speeding and wrongful overtaking due to the absence of a traffic light to regulate the movement of vehicles at the Ritz Junction.

He made a passionate appeal to the authorities to fix traffic lights at the junction as soon as possible to save lives. They should not wait for precious lives to be lost before they rush to put a traffic light” he stated. – Christine Gogoe
