Bombers back from Turkey

Members of Ghana’s amateur boxing team, the Black Bombers that participated in the Ahmed Juma International boxing tournament in Turkey are back home.

The three – Jessie Lartey (69kg) welterweight, Ghana’s only medalist at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia; Wahid Omar (64kg) light welterweight and Suleman Tetteh, (56) bantamweight arrived yesterday with Emirates Airline.

Tetteh won a bronze medal after losing at the semi final stage of the competition to honour Turkish Olympian, Ahmed Human.

They were welcomed by a team from the Ghana Boxing Federation (GBA) led by its president, Mr George Lamptey.

Welcoming them, he commended the boxers for the performance they exhibited but said it was unfortunate they could not win medals to show for it.

He congratulated Tetteh for winning Ghana’s the only bronze medal and encouraged them  to train harder.
