Bolga Central NDC Elects New Executives

The Bolgatanga Central Constituency delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have voted and retained the incumbent chairman, Alhaji Abdulai Akunno Aduko, a businessman.

At the election supervised by the Electoral Commission (EC), Alhaji Aduko polled 241 votes to beat his only challenger, Mr. Epsona Harry Ayamga, the immediate past Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Bolgatanga Municipality, who obtained 200 votes.

Mr. Ayamga was the party’s chairman in the constituency for 16 years, until his appointment as the MCE.

Abdallah Jonathan Salifu secured 207 votes to unseat Roland Ayoo, the incumbent Secretary, who polled 198 votes.

Huudu Yahaya, the incumbent propaganda secretary secured 201 votes to retain his seat.

He beat  Robert Adombilla and Ameetego Rockson who secured 178 and 81 votes, respectively.

Patrick Ayuuga also won the treasurer position by securing 160 votes, beating two other contestants,  Richard Atinga and Robert Apaayagle who had 156 and 141 votes, respectively.

The post of Organiser was won by  Philip Adongo, who polled 211 votes.

He defeated Francis Asare who had 168 votes and  Abangbire Apana who also secured 78.

Madam Theresa Anamoo  won the Women’s organizer position by securing 79 votes, to beat Madam Regina Agotinirba, the incumbent who polled 33.

Ayambire Adabre  won the position of Vice-Chairman with 282 votes, Daniel Ayoo,  the Deputy Secretary with 201 votes and Saram Abdulai Abubakar 191 votes to take the Deputy Propaganda Secretary position.

The rest were Fuseini Ayae,  Deputy Treasurer; Martin Ayamga, Deputy Organiser; Isaac Asore, Deputy Youth Organiser and Madam Elizabeth Akugre, Deputy Women’s Organizer.

In valedictory speech, Alhaji Aduko stressed the need for both the winners and  losers to unite and work  for the NDC to retain power in 2016.
