Liberty Professionals striker, Latif Blessing won the Ghana Premier League (GPL) goal king title after his treble on the final day of competition.
He led Liberty’s battle against the drop by scoring a hat-trick in their final game against FA Cup champions, Bechem United at the Carl Reinhdorf Park at Dansoman.
Indeed, his exploits saved Liberty who overtook Sekondi Hasaacas to safer grounds with the Western regional representatives joining Techiman City and New Edubiase to relegation.
Blessing finished the season with 17 goals; two more than Aduana Stars talisman Yahaya Mohammed who followed in second position.
Medeama’s Kwesi Donsu, also finished with 15 goals after bagging a brace in the 3-3 draw with AshantiGold in Tarkwa.
In another development, Ghana has qualified for the 2016 CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations after beating Kenya 7-1 at the Laboma Beach Soccer arena at Labadi.
With a 10-3 advantage secured from the first leg in Kenya, Ghana thus qualified on a 17-4 aggregate as they get ready to make a maiden appearance at the continental futsal.
Defending champions, Madagascar, also recorded a 9-4 aggregate passage after edging Mozambique 3-2 and 6-2 victories over two legs.
Other qualified countries include Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, Libya and hosts Nigeria.
The two finalists will represent the continent at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Bahamas 2017.
