Black Queens To Know Opponent On July 19

Black Queens GHANA’S Black Queens will know their opponent for this year’s African Women Championship on July 19, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) confirmed last Wednesday.

The draw is scheduled for the Namibian capital, Windhoek and will be held at the Windhoek Country Club Resort.

Eight nations are in the draw, Algeria, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia and hosts Namibia.

Black Stars dispatched Ethiopia in the final qualifying round to advance to the African championship.

The final tournament will be held from 11th through 25th October and serves as the continental qualifier for the 2015 FIFA Women World Cup to be held in Canada.

*The Sakumono Presbyterian Church of Ghana defeated Central Spiritualists of Moree in the Central Region, 9-8 on penalties to win this year’s National Chocho Inter-Faith Games held at the University of Ghana, Legon, on Tuesday.

The match started on a fast note and saw both teams making several incursions into each other’s vital area but could not find the net till half time.

The story was not different in the second half as the teams struggled for the opener which did not come till full time, sending the game into penalties.
